Step Up for Students
Step Up For Students is a nonprofit organization that administers the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship for low-income students (K-12). The scholarship program was created by the Florida Legislature in 2001 and is funded by corporations that receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for their contributions. Family Empowerment Scholarship
On May 11, 2021, Governor DeSantis signed House Bill 7045 into law, resulting in several changes to the state funded scholarship programs, including an extensive expansion of the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program. Our office is working closely with the scholarship funding organizations, AAA Scholarship Foundation and Step Up For Students, to ensure appropriate and effective implementation of these changes.
Gardiner Scholarship
The Gardiner Scholarship is a newly created program that is designed to provide the option for a parent to better meet the individual educational needs of his or her eligible child. The Gardiner Scholarship provides eligible students a scholarship that can be used to purchase approved services or products. Step Up for Students administers this scholarship as well. McKay Scholarship
